Who’s Behind Urban HQ?
Based in Swansea’s former police station, we’ve reimagined an underused building into a vibrant space for collaboration, events, and everyday inspiration — blending ethical business with imaginative thinking.
Urban HQ is one of several purpose-led ventures by regeneration specialists Urban Foundry, who are led by Swansea-born Directors Dr. Ben Reynolds, Tara Tarapetian and Laura Reynolds, and supported by a small team of passionate people.
Urban Foundry transforms empty spaces into thriving places, delivers meaningful community projects, and supports clients with strategic insight — all with a focus on connection, creativity, and social impact.
Our Story
Urban HQ began life in 2022 as a pop-up café — a welcoming space for good food, conversation, and community. Since then, it has grown into a thriving café, business hub, and event venue.
In 2025, we expanded further to offer coworking desks and private offices — creating a home for freelancers, creatives, and purpose-driven organisations.
What We Stand For
We’re proud to:
- Support Swansea’s creative and independent scene
- Employ local people on at least the Real Living Wage
- Serve produce from local traders — including those from our own Uplands, Marina, and Mumbles markets
- Offer flexible, welcoming workspaces for purpose-led people
Urban HQ continues to evolve as a space where community and creativity come together — showing what’s possible when you put people and purpose at the heart of regeneration.
